Where lights earn their keep in Saint John
December streets here are dark by 4:30. That's most of the after-work shopping day. A lit building is the one people notice from the sidewalk or the car.
Uptown and Trinity Royal
Prince William, Germain and the blocks around King Street are mostly late Victorian brick, rebuilt after the 1877 fire. A clean line of warm white along a roofline or awning suits those facades without hiding them. Nothing gets drilled into the brick.
King Street and Market Square
This is the uptown core, where people walk between shops, pubs, restaurants and offices after work. Lit entrances and windows help a business look open on a dark December street.
Rothesay Avenue dealerships
Rothesay Avenue has several car dealerships with long, flat rooflines. On big commercial buildings we space bulbs 15 inches apart so the line reads from the road. Lifts are quoted separately if we need one.
Westmorland Road, East Side
Around McAllister Place on Westmorland Road, shoppers come and go after dark all through December. Plazas, restaurants and clinics nearby can stand out from the parking lot and the road.

- How much does Christmas light installation cost in Saint John?
- $750 for the season, which includes the first 100 ft of lit roofline. After that it's $4 per foot. Lifts or special access are quoted separately. Prices are before HST and cover the lights, install, timer, service calls, takedown and storage.
- Can you put lights on a heritage building uptown?
- Usually, yes. We don't drill or screw into anything. We use clips made for gutters, shingles and trim. If a facade has nowhere safe to clip, we'll tell you at the free walkthrough rather than force it.
- Do you install Christmas lights on car dealerships?
- Yes. Dealerships are first on our list this season. Long rooflines are priced by the foot, and we quote lifts separately when a building needs one.
- When do you take Christmas lights down?
- Between January 5 and 20, weather permitting. We pack them up and store them, so there's nothing for you to keep.
- Do I need an electrician?
- No. Our lights plug into an existing outdoor outlet on a timer. We don't do electrical work, so no hardwiring and no new outlets.
- Do you put up Christmas lights on houses in Saint John?
- Not yet. This season we're starting with businesses. Text HOME and your street to 506-910-4843 and we'll let you know when we open homes.
